Sail on the Bay
If you’ve spent any time at all with us, you know that we love sailing. The idea of being propelled along the surface of the earth, and even around the entire earth, by natural forces has a deep and visceral appeal to us — naturally.
The Schooner Freda B is an 80 foot gaff-rigged topsail schooner that sails out of Sausalito, CA. Originally employed in the Atlantic merchant trade, schooners became indispensable in North America as they are supremely maneuverable and highly adept at transporting their passengers in comfort and grace.
Join us as we explore the San Francisco Bay, the largest estuary on the West Coast, where the mixture of salt and freshwater is the foundation of the Bay’s biological diversity and richness. We’ll see plenty of sea life and learn about why the Bay’s health and keeping its water clean is critical to the wine growing work that we do. Undoubtedly, you’ll be indulging in our Rosé for the Bay (the proceeds of which benefit San Francisco BayKeeper) and other wines from our Poseidon Vineyard, planted at the edge of the Bay in 1972.
