Welcome to Base Camp

We like to think of our tasting room in Sonoma as ‘Base Camp’ for your explorations in Northern California.

It is a place for people to gather, to create, and to commune. Sure, you’ll taste wine here. But our hope is that you will find Base Camp to be a space to find inspiration, tranquility, and connection.

We partnered with an incredible design team to bring the natural awe we experience in our vineyards to this quiet garden steps away from the bustling Sonoma Square.

Three glass walls open to the light and air of the outdoors, where obsidian boulders are surrounded by the native plants and trees. More workshop than lounge, the minimalist interior features hand-hewn oak furnishings crafted by our master coopers in Hungary. A museum-quality projector brings the vineyard to life on the fourth wall.

Obsidian Base Camp is open daily for tastings from 11am-6pm at 441 First Street West. Reservations are recommended, walk-ins are welcome.
